This Privacy Policy applies to the Prospair website, web application, and future mobile applications operated under the Prospair name. “Household” means the shared budgeting space created by you and, when invited, your partner.
Information we collect
Account and household information
We collect information such as your email address, display name, authentication records, household name, partner invitations, and membership role.
Budget and financial information
We store the budget information you choose to add, including funds, planned allocations, expected income, goals, transaction assignments, notes, and approval history.
Connected financial accounts
If you connect a financial institution, we may receive institution and account names, account type, partial account identifiers, balances, transactions, pending and posted status, and connection details. Prospair uses these connections for budgeting information and does not initiate bank transfers or hold your money. We do not receive or store the username and password you use with your financial institution.
Files you upload
During onboarding, you may upload budget exports or transaction files. We use those files to prepare a private review, identify historical patterns, and suggest a starting budget. Imported activity does not change your budget until it is reviewed and approved.
Budget-guide information
When you use the budget guide, we process your questions, conversation history, and the household context needed to answer them. We may use service providers to generate the requested guidance. The guide is designed to explain and propose; it does not independently move money or approve budget changes.
Subscription and usage information
Our payment processor provides us with customer, subscription, payment-status, and billing-management identifiers. We may also collect basic logs, device and browser information, IP address, security events, performance data, and error reports needed to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
- Provide and synchronize the shared household budget.
- Authenticate users and enforce household-level access.
- Import, categorize, and reconcile transactions after review.
- Generate budget guidance requested by the household.
- Manage subscriptions and paid-feature access.
- Detect abuse, investigate errors, and improve reliability.
- Communicate service, security, support, and policy updates.
How information is shared
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the service, comply with law, protect people and the service, or complete a business transaction with appropriate safeguards.
Service providers may include:
- Account and storage providers for sign-in, secure storage, and application operation.
- Financial connectivity providers for linked-account and transaction data.
- Payment processors for subscription billing and payment processing.
- Guidance providers when you use the budget guide.
- Email providers for account, household, support, and service messages.
Household visibility
Budget data in a household is intended to be shared with its members. Your partner may see household plans, transactions, fund balances, changes, and other shared activity. Private authentication credentials are not shared with the other household member.
Retention and deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security and financial records, or meet legal obligations. You may request account and associated-data deletion through our account-deletion page. Shared household records may require special handling when another member remains.
Security
We use measures designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, household-level access controls, restricted service access, verified updates, and reviewable financial changes. No security system can guarantee absolute protection. Learn more on our security page.
Your choices
You may choose not to connect a bank or use the budget guide and continue using the manual budget. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information by contacting us. You can disconnect institutions and manage subscriptions through the available product controls.
Children
Prospair is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your choices.
